A Note from our Editor . . .
The literature of greats like Pierre Berton and Robert Service does not lie -- the Yukon most definitely has an extraordinary mystique to it, which is why our magazine is fittingly titled, Yukon, North of Ordinary. Four times a year we celebrate the stories, successes, and breathtaking scenery that make the territory such an incredible place to love for locals and visitors alike.
Yukon, North of Ordinary is truly a unique publication. We’re about the territory, made by the people who call it home--or those who call it a home away from home. Our Harper Street Publishing team is made up of individuals scattered across this fine region, from Whitehorse and Carcross, to Dawson City, and even Atlin, B.C. (Yukon’s adopted community to the south). It’s our goal to bring the Yukon to our pages via the lively words of our writers and the unforgettable images of our photographers.
We always love to hear what you have to say. Don’t hesitate to write us about what you loved, what you didn’t, and what you want to see on future pages. And don’t forget to take Yukon, North of Ordinary with you when you travel. Just be sure to snap a few photos of yourself with the magazine at your ultimate destination and share it with us for our “On Tour” section in each issue.
Whether you’re a territory dweller or tourist, there is so much to explore in our vast northern corner of the nation. I look forward to continuing to discover the extraordinary and sharing it with you in each and every issue.
